Rubait Rahman is a Ph.D. candidate in Agricultural, Food, and Resource Economics at Michigan State University. His recent research leverages high-frequency data and causal inference methods to examine how consumers and firms respond to shocks in the food system and environment, including supply disruptions, pollution events, and product recalls. In addition to reduced-form approaches, his ongoing research focuses on ex-ante policy evaluation using structural market models, as well as burden-of-illness estimation and health risk valuation. His research has appeared in the Journal of Food Protection, Risk Analysis and PLOS ONE.
